Ali MacGraw
Elizabeth Alice MacGraw better known as Ali MacGraw is an award-winning American actress, model, writer and animal rights activist. Her work has received acclaim for her roles in films such as Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969) and The Getaway, (1972). New York was her home and she grew up in a creative environment. The first job she had was an assistant to photographers. After that, she switched to modeling and acting. In her first two films, she was recognized and was awarded her the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Young Actress. MacGraw was a household name following the success of her 1970 film Love Story. She was considered for nomination to the Academy Award and won a Golden Globe. After only three movies, MacGraw was declared the most successful female in box office history. Her footprints, handwritten in 1972 and autograph were engraved at Grauman's Chinese Theater. In addition to The Getaway Convoy Players she played a part in the tv miniseries The Winds of War. Moving Pictures, a 1991 autobiography by her, was published. MacGraw was married three times.
