She's covered sports for one of the largest media outlets around the globe. The newspaper she worked for was The Washington Post nearly a decade and covered Grand Slam Tennis and Grand Slam Football, as well as basketball at multiple Olympics. Nichols spent nine years at ESPN which was where she earned two Emmy Awards. Also, she was an anchor for Monday Night Football on the network. Then, she switched onto CNN sports and then Turner. This is only the second nomination in 42 years of the honor for a female among more than 200 nominated candidates.
