Niykee has experienced a whirlwind few years including being selected by Snoop to perform with him on the YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee maintains a consistent songwriting schedule despite all this. Now a magnet for up-and-coming artists, she is constantly looking over beats she receives and discovers that a lot of them end up sparking song ideas. In just 5 minutes when I'm able to determine if a particular beat is worthwhile. From there I am able to see the concept of a song's whole concept inside my head and start to write. If I am sitting on my back porch playing guitar, the lyrics just appear and usually are completed in less than thirty minutes. Niykee is continuing to improve her skills as a poet and lyricist. She says that the trauma she endured through the years is a constant sources of motivation. It's difficult to escape memories that are painful from my youth, especially the loss of my sister. The memories end up getting included in her songs. This influences my music and builds this deeper significance behind everything that is one the most important things that I value. It is important to me to realize that I could listen to any of my songs 20 years later and be happy with what I wrote.
