
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the most prestigious division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 until 2020. Following her graduation in the early years of the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was picked as the first overall selection in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. The team made her debut in professional football and helped the team win the league championship. Morgan 22, then 22 years aged, was the smallest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where she was second. Morgan scored the match-winning goal against Canada in the semi-final match at the 2012 London Olympics. She was the second player in the U.S. to score 20 goals and 21 assists for the year 2012, making her the youngest and sixth most prolific player in the country to achieve 20 goals in one year. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also integral in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. She was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
